Antoinette Allen is a clinical educator in Gallaudet University's Department of Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences’ (HSLS). Ms. Allen received her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Maryland, College Park.  She has been a member of the  HSLS department intermittently since 1988. Her interest in integrated approaches to communication services developed from 1984-1987 when she worked with deaf and hard-of-hearing children in the Baltimore City Public School system. Ms. Allen has also provided traditional speech-language pathology and aural rehabilitation services to children in Europe as a member of the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DODDS). She has had the privilege of also working as a Clinical Supervisor/Clinical Educator at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Ms. Allen has presented both locally and nationally on topics related to traditional service provision and aural rehabilitation. Current areas of interest include adult aural rehabilitation including individuals with cochlear implants, and fluency.
