Gallaudet Staff Council (GSC)

Gallaudet Staff Council (GSC) is one of several bodies of shared governance on campus, representing all staff people at Gallaudet and Clerc Center. Representatives from all the divisions on campus make up the body of the council, led by an executive team of chair, vice chair, secretary, and parliamentarian. Whenever you have a concern or would like to offer input on an issue, contact your representative.

GSC’s mission is to support the mission and goals of Gallaudet University (the University), including the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center (Clerc Center). Like all other shared governance groups, (SBG, GSA, Faculty Senate, etc), GSC gets involved in university decision making, to ensure that staff interests are considered. To learn more about the structure of GSC, refer to our Bylaws section.

But, it isn’t all serious – we do have fun, too! Our annual Staff Awards recognizes and highlights the achievements of our valued employees. Our social events offer us an opportunity to gather and get to know one another better, or to catch up with staff members we don’t see often.  Check out our galleries to see pictures of past events – this will be updated regularly.

GSC’s meetings are open to the public, so feel free to attend; it’s a great way to stay informed of university decisions and how they impact you as a staff member. We send out regular emails notifying staff of our meetings and they are in our calendar, as well.
