IT Service Desk upgrade to take place August 3, 2019

It has been a year since Gallaudet Technology Services (GTS) launched the ticketing system and portal, known as the IT Service Desk. To keep up with version upgrades and the addition of new features, the system needs to be upgraded to each major version approximately every 6 months.

GTS is preparing for the system’s first major upgrade which will require the system to be off-line starting at 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019.

This upgrade comes with quite a number of ‘under the hood’ improvements and some customer-facing portal improvements. After the upgrade, new  and exciting features, such as Virtual Assistant, online chat, and increased self-service automation, will be implemented during the fall semester.

If you have issues or problems over the weekend, please send an email to itservicedesk@gallaudet.edu. The email account will be monitored. Once the new system is online, tickets will be created from these emails and processed accordingly.

When the upgrade is completed on Sunday afternoon, an update will be sent informing the community of the system being up and running. If you have any questions about this upgrade prior to the upgrade, submit a ticket to the IT Service Desk at https://gallaudet.edu/itservicedesk.
