Microsoft Office 2016 now available for self-service installations

Effective February 8, 2017, Microsoft Office 2016 is available for self-service installation on both Mac and Windows university-owned computers.

Please note: Those who work with nVision or TMA, are not encouraged to download and install Microsoft Office 2016 until further notice.

Refer to the appropriate link below for installation instructions from https://k1000.gallaudet.edu.

  • Windows: Install “[Win] Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016" via Kace Software Library – requires 64-bit OS
  • Mac: Install “[Mac] Install Microsoft Office 2016" via Kace Software Library – requires OS 10.10 (Yosemite) or higher.

For those who are on 32-bit Windows OS or 32-bit Windows MS Office 2013 may not be able to install MS Office 2016.  Please submit a ticket with Help Desk (https://www.gallaudet.edu/helpdesk) if you encounter this issue.

Microsoft Office for Personal Computers

If your Windows computer currently has an older version of MS Office, you should uninstall it (via Control Panel --> Programs and Features) before attempting to install Office 2016.

Macs running 10.10 (Yosemite) or above will receive Office 2016; Macs running 10.9 (Mavericks) or below will retain Office 2011.

  • Go to http://www.office.com
  • Click “Sign In” (if prompted, choose “use work or school account”)
  • Sign in using your Gallaudet email address and password
  • Click the “Install Office 2016” button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
