Procedure for Requesting a Job Classification Review

  1. It is the responsibility of the supervisor to identify significant changes in job responsibilities and initiate a reclassification review.
  2. The supervisor should discuss the changes with the unit administrator.
  3. A request for reclassification review form must be completed and sent to Human Resources Services.   Please see the reclassification review form here. The current and proposed job descriptions must be submitted with the form.  Please see a sample job description here.
  4. Human Resources Services will perform a job analysis and determine whether or not the position should be placed on another salary level.
  5. If the position is approved for reclassification by Human Resources Services, the unit administrator must share with the senior administrator and administrative officer (if required) for further approval (including potential salary increases).
  6. The supervisor is responsible for notifying employees if reclassification is approved.
