ASL Research Assistant position offered for Summer 2017

Interested in applying your knowledge of ASL linguistics in a research setting? Apply for our position, ASL Research Assistant.


Duties include annotation of ASL from video (using ELAN), assessment of ASL on video, discussion of ASL grammar with other linguists, and other ASL research tasks. 
Position timeline options are Summer 2017 only, or one year starting summer 2017 (possibility of renewal depending on progress and funding availability), full-time or part-time. Work locations will be in either Storrs, CT or Gallaudet University, Washington, D.C. Required qualifications for the position include excellent skills in ASL, ability to use computer programs, and good attention to detail. Preferred qualifications entail being a native signer; B.A. in ASL/Deaf Studies/Linguistics; experience using ELAN and/or knowledge of language documentation, ID glosses and annotation; avid video creator and/or consumer.
