The Gallaudet Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a committee that reviews and oversees research to ensure that research volunteers are adequately protected according to ethical standards and relevant rules.

Anyone who does research at Gallaudet that involves interaction or intervention with human subjects needs to consider submitting information for review. “Human Subjects Research” may not be conducted without IRB approval, even retroactively.

To learn more about the Gallaudet IRB, as well as our new online application system (Cayuse IRB), please attend one of our two campus-wide presentations this semester during Common Time on Wednesday, either March 11 or April 22 from 1:15 to 2 p.m. in the G-Area of JSAC. This presentation is open to all and is of benefit to faculty, staff and students (both graduate and undergraduate) who are interested in doing research. The presentation will be in ASL. Accommodations available upon request. (The attached flyer is about the March 11 event)
