Gallaudet University's The International Development Master of Arts Degree Program (IDMA) Program welcomes you to join the 4th annual Deaf Leadership in International Development panel event on Tuesday, March 10th from 5:30-7:30 p.m in JSAC 1011.

This year’s theme is Deaf Leadership in Disability Inclusive Development. While inclusion is a core value and priority for those working in international development, it remains an evolving concept that many are eager to discuss, especially involving the nuances of signing communities around the world.

This panel aims to highlight the insights and approaches professionals engage to address the linguistic and cultural rights of deaf people - and how attention to disability-inclusive development can continue to create opportunities for deaf communities to guide this work.

Panelists: Mary Dakim, instructor and internship coordinator, Gallaudet University Department of Business; Sachiko Flores, Co-Executive Director, Discovering Deaf Worlds; Josh Josa, Acting QUEST Team Lead and Disability Inclusive Education Portfolio Lead, USAID; and Matthew Thielker, Associate Nutrition Advisor, Bureau of Food Security USAID.
