Deaf participants needed for a research study

Deaf adult participants, ages 18 or older and who identify ASL as their primary or first/native language are needed for a research study investigating fingerspelling.  Participants must be able to come to Gallaudet campus (SLCC), where they will watch a video of a series of fingerspelled pseudowords and fingerspell back each psuedoword to a video camera.  Videos of participants will be documented without identifying information and will be stored in a secure location and kept confidential.  This should not take more than 45 minutes of the participant's time. If you are interested in participating, please email the researcher, Steven Kulsar at steven.kulsar@gallaudet.edu to schedule a time for your participation.

This research has been approved by Gallaudet’s Institutional Review Board, project number 3141. Steven is a Ph.D. student in the Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences department, currently gathering data for his dissertation.
