Gallaudet's Conversations Across Nations to gather responses via social media between November 12 and 18, 2017

Gallaudet University | Office of the President
Dear Campus Community,

Click here to view this message in American Sign Language.

Gallaudet has hosted several Conversations Across Nations (CAN) over the past year, and now it is time for the next one! This time, though, the focus will be on gathering your responses via social media instead of at an in-person roundtable CAN session.

The question for this CAN is: "Why is Gallaudet your home?" We are asking for responses to this prompt between November 12 and 18, 2017.

This CAN topic emerged from my many interactions with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the University. Many people have shared the same comment again and again: Gallaudet is home. Now, we want to better understand your personal reasons for why Gallaudet is home.

There will be an on-campus CAN recording session on November 14, 2017 where members of the campus community can share their stories in 30 seconds or less. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the G-area of the I. King Jordan Student Academic Center (SAC), the alcove area in SAC, and in the atrium of the Hall Memorial Building (HMB) we will have tables staffed to assist you record and post your story to Facebook or email.

If you miss the event on the 14th, you may share and post your story between November 12 and 18 on Facebook using #GallaudetHomeWhy or email to HomeWhy@Gallaudet.edu.

We look forward to receiving your responses to this wonderful question.

Sincerely,

Roberta J. Cordano
President
