Hanover Research, LLC timeline of expected federal funding opportunities for 2019

Hanover Research, LLC, a consulting firm providing research and analytics that help universities and other clients identify and apply for funding opportunities, has created a timeline outlining several priority competitions expected for 2019.  This resource should help Gallaudet faculty/staff consider if their project is a good fit for these upcoming grant opportunities.  Faculty and staff can then prepare and allocate the time and resources needed in order to submit a competitive proposal.  You can view the federal funding timeline at clearslide or at https://www.gallaudet.edu/office-of-sponsored-programs/funding-resources#Hanover_Timeline.

Although we are in the midst of a federal government shutdown, all federal electronic submission systems are currently available for submitting grant proposals. Federal agencies have not postponed deadlines due to the shutdown, however affected agencies will not be reviewing applications until the government resumes work. You should prepare your grant proposals for submission based on current deadlines.  Guidelines for new federal funding opportunities may be delayed.

To stay up-to-date and for a full list of federal agencies currently closed and those not affected by the shutdown, you can go to the OSP's website https://www.gallaudet.edu/office-of-sponsored-programs/agency-updates

As always, the first step after identifying an opportunity is to complete the OSP Intent to Submit Form in AdobeSign.  More information about the ISF can be found on the OSP Forms page.

Grants and research contracts are integral to establishing "Gallaudet as the epicenter of research development and outreach leading to advancements in knowledge and practice for deaf and hard of hearing people and all humanity."  A central component of Gallaudet University's mission is the enhancement of faculty and staff opportunities for creative and scholarly research and training.  If you have a question about the grant writing process or if you have an idea or concept and would like to discuss potential grant opportunities, please contact Audrey Wineglass Foster at audrey.foster@gallaudet.edu.   We look forward to meeting and working with you.
