"Know Agatha Tiegel Hanson? You Must!" event to be held April 16, 2019

Come check out a joint project by Gallaudet faculty, staff, students, and alumni on an exciting project to recognize one of our most dynamic female student leaders in history! Agatha Tiegel Hanson led a rich and dynamic life both in college and beyond. The producer of two other successful films, "America's Founders Friends of the Deaf" (2016) and "Seeds of Hope: The Andrew Jackson Foster Story" (2018), Gary Brooks is planning on producing a new movie- "The Feather: The Agatha Tiegel Hanson Story".

Students from DST 402 (Deaf Women's Studies) as taught by Tawny Holmes Hlibok, have wrote script portions last fall, and one of our alumnus Katherine Jankowski has written a book about her! Administrators Dean Genie Gertz along with ASL and Deaf Studies Chair Arlene B. Kelly will share their thoughts as pioneers of Deaf Women's Studies. This event promises to be both memorable and inspiring- and information on how YOU can audition for the movie will be shared! Come one, come all.

Date and time: April 16, noon-1:30 p.m.
Location: JSAC 1011
