Office of Alumni Relations message on Homecoming 2020 alumni events

The coronavirus pandemic has brought many challenges for all of us. Gallaudet University has just announced that it will begin the 2020-2021 academic year with remote learning while working to bring its students back to campus. You can learn more at the university’s dedicated website, coronavirus.gallaudet.edu.

You may be wondering how this will affect Homecoming. For so many of us, Gallaudet is home, and we all eagerly look forward to Homecoming. This year, however, we must place health and safety first. The university has made the decision not to hold in-person alumni events during Homecoming weekend, October 29-31. A decision for students has not been reached at this time.

We are disappointed that we will not be able to celebrate Homecoming in person. We will be in touch with reunion chairs in the next several weeks to discuss different ideas and contingency plans to ensure that we retain the Homecoming spirit. This way, you can still show your Gallaudet pride, albeit virtually. With the support and involvement of our strong alumni base, we will make this year’s Homecoming one to remember!

If you have suggestions or questions, feel free to contact us at alumni.relations@gallaudet.edu.

Have a safe and healthy summer.

All for Gallaudet!
