Redesigned GUAA Logo Unveiled

GUAA has a redesigned logo! It includes the words GALLAUDET and ALUMNI, and the year 1889, and was selected after online voting. In the accompanying video, Richard Jacobs, ’91, explains how the logo was chosen and what it represents. A transcript appears below.

Hello! I am Richard Jacobs, a Member-at-Large on the Gallaudet University Alumni Association Board of Directors.

In the early summer of 2019, GUAA shared online three proposed  redesigns of the GUAA logo. These logos included “Gallaudet University”, “Alumni” and “1889”, the year GUAA was founded. GUAA alumni voted for their preferred choice.

The GUAA Board planned to unveil the selected logo during the Charter Day luncheon and awards program on April 4, 2020. Unfortunately, this event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The GUAA Board now proudly unveils the new GUAA logo. This logo is an important part of our brand identity, and serves to energize and invigorate our membership.

The GUAA Board expresses its gratitude to Ralph Fernandez, ’92, for his volunteer time to redesign the logo. We also thank our alumni for participating in the selection process.  By so doing, you are now a part of GUAA’s rich history.

Thank you!
