Siena School in Italy now offering two and three-week summer 2018 programs on Italian Sign Language

The Siena Deaf Studies Program is a study abroad opportunity directly related to sign language and deaf culture. This unique program provides ASL users a linguistic and cultural immersion into the transnational deaf world.

Summer 2018 program dates:

  • Summer Study Abroad for Signers (June 16 - July 7)
  • Summer Professionals & Graduate Students Program (June 16-30)
  • Summer Two or Three Weeks Independent Research Project (June 16– 30 or June 16-July 7)
  • Summer Two or Three Weeks Service Learning Project (June 16–30 or June 16-July 7)

Gallaudet University Application deadline:  March 1, 2018

How to Apply:

  • All students interested in applying must first make an advising appointment with the Coordinator of Education Abroad.
  • Students interested in applying will apply through Gallaudet here. Do not apply on the Siena Institute website.
  • Gallaudet will send completed applications to our partners at the Siena Institute.
  • The deadline to apply for summer 2018 is March 1. Students will then have 1 month to complete necessary paperwork by April 1, 2018.
