Spring 2020 ASLPI testing session schedule announced

The ASLPI has announced that the spring 2020 testing session will begin January 22, 2020, and end May 14, 2020. The time slots available are posted in its public calendar. The department has made available 815 testing time slots, and will continue to add more time slots as more evaluators confirm their availability. The ASLPI expects to conduct over 1,000 evaluations during the Spring 2020 testing session.

The ASLPI is an extraordinarily active office providing holistic language proficiency testing for examinees worldwide. The annual demand for ASLPI testing is increasing exponentially by academic programs adding the ASLPI for entrance, progression, exit, and by businesses and employers requiring the ASLPI for hiring, advancement, and promotion. The ASLPI is also being used as an evaluation for foreign language requirements by high schools and colleges nationwide. There is also an increase in testing for a wide array of industries awarding salary increases for language proficiency documentation (i.e., Deaf schools, police departments, fire rescue, hospitals, VR agencies, etc.). Given the growing demand for testing, comprehensive training is being provided in fall 2019 (interviewers) and spring 2020 (raters) to expand the pool of evaluators. Each training program requires approximately two months to complete.

The ASLPI staff wishes all our examinees a happy holiday season!
