The Office of Sponsored Programs presents "Did You Know?"

Did you know that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has a human subjects decision tree? The decision tree can assist you with determining if your research involves human subjects, may be considered exempt from Federal regulations or is not considered human subjects research. You can access the NIH decision tree at https://grants.nih.gov/policy/humansubjects/hs-decision.htm. Use this tree as a resource. It should not be used as the sole determining factor. If you need further assistance contact the Gallaudet IRB Office at https://www.gallaudet.edu/institutional-review-board.

Grants and contracts are integral to establishing "Gallaudet as the epicenter of research development and outreach leading to advancements in knowledge and practice for deaf and hard of hearing people and all humanity." A central component of Gallaudet University's mission is the enhancement of faculty and staff opportunities for creative and scholarly research and training. If you have a question about the grant writing process or if you have an idea or concept and would like to discuss potential grant opportunities, please contact Audrey Wineglass Foster at audrey.foster@gallaudet.edu. We look forward to meeting and working with you.
