Transgender Day of Visibility, March 31

flyer that says, "Trans Day of Visibility, 'Show your Colors'" at SLCC Atrium, March 31 from 3-5 p.m. #GallaudetUnite #OurBathrooms and #UnapologeticallyTrans

The Gallaudet University community is proud to recognize Transgender Day of Visibility (TDoV) this year as we have done for the past two years. Our commemoration is especially meaningful in light of recent events on our campus that have shown hate towards transgender, and most recently, towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer/questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBQIA) members of our community.

We are proud to be gathering on Friday, March 31st from 3-5 pm in the SLCC Atrium to observe Trans Day of Visibility (TDoV). Our TDoV event will take place after the celebration to honor Cesar Chavez's birthday, hosted by Multicultural Student Programs, Office of Diversity and Equity for Students (HMB Atrium from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.). Come celebrate with ODES and join us afterwards to celebrate TDoV!

We'll be kicking off our TDoV celebration at 3:00 pm with remarks by trans members of the Gallaudet community, along with the President, administrators, undergraduate students, graduate students, ELI students, faculty, and staff. We recognize that acts of hate and vandalism on our campus impact not just trans students, staff, and faculty, but also members of other communities on campus. Join us as we gather to support each other and transform hate into love! We are stronger when we come together.

Help us celebrate Trans Day of Visibility and join us in building a stronger Gallaudet! Don't forget to post your bathroom selfie or a picture of yourself with a supportive message that relates to our theme this year, "Show Your Colors," and share it with us at:

See you there!
