Gallaudet University will be hosting the first ever symposium, “Surviving Change Through Interconnection: African Deaf Ecologies in Transition” from October 6-8, 2019. We are preparing to welcome experts in African Deaf ecologies from around the United States as well as from various countries throughout Africa. We will need several volunteers to ensure that all of our guests are welcomed and the symposium runs smoothly.
We invite you to apply to serve as a volunteer. Below is a list of some of the possible ways you may be assigned to serve:
Sunday, October 6: reception: set-up/break down, registration table, all-around helpful hands
Monday October 7: registration table, two volunteers for each panel session (approximately two hours each, with at least three sessions)
Monday evening mixer: set-up/break down, registration table, all-around helpful hands for set-up and break-down
Tuesday October 8: registration table, two volunteers for each panel session (approximately two hours each, with at least two sessions), and all-around helpful hands for set-up and break-down
