Volunteers Needed for VL2's fourth annual Knowledge Festival

Volunteers Needed for VL2's fourth annual Knowledge Festival

The National Science Foundation-Gallaudet University Science of Learning Center, Visual Language and Visual Learning (VL2) will host its Fourth Annual Knowledge Festival on Tuesday, May 14, 3-6 p.m.

This annual event will showcase our VL2 Center's scientific discoveries and its transformative translation products from one entire year’s worth of work, while offering fun and engaging opportunities for all participants. We do this to advance our commitment to make accessible and meaningful our scientific discoveries for the benefit of society.

We are searching for friendly and efficient volunteers to help us execute this exciting event! Volunteers will arrive at 1:00 to help with final set-up of space. At the start of the event your primary role will be to welcome guests at the registration desk, provide materials, answer logistical questions about the event space, and/or support exhibit tables, as needed.

If you are interested in helping us with this exciting event, please send an email to VL2@Gallaudet.edu (Subject: Knowledge Festival Volunteer).

We look forward to another exciting event!

About the VL2 Fourth Annual Knowledge Festival
The National Science Foundation-Gallaudet University Science of Learning Center, Visual Language and Visual Learning (VL2) will host its Fourth Annual Knowledge Festival on Tuesday, May 14, 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Our 2018-2019 theme for the activities in our NSF-Gallaudet VL2 Center, as well as its culminating 2019 Knowledge Festival, will be "The Creative Side of Discovery." We will highlight the intersection between creativity and the vision, mission, and goals of the discipline on which our VL2 Center was founded: The Science of Learning.

This annual event will showcase our VL2 Center's scientific discoveries and its transformative translation products from one entire year’s worth of work, while offering fun and engaging opportunities for all participants. We do this to advance our commitment to make accessible and meaningful our scientific discoveries for the benefit of society.

In keeping with this year’s novel theme, we will focus on the ways that our VL2 Center science discoveries represent the forefront of 21st Century creativity through our Center’s advances spanning cutting-edge new discoveries about how children learn, and digital and technological achievements unique to Gallaudet, the nation, and the world.

Visitors to this year’s 2019 Knowledge Festival will witness first-time translational innovations that have the potential to revolutionize learning and education methods involving the ways that young deaf and hearing children learn language, learn to read, and more, in order to catapult all children’s growth to become powerful participants in the 21st Century world that they will be entering.
