"Wrongfully convicted: An exoneree's story" presentation and discussion to be held December 6, 2017

"Wrongfully convicted: An exoneree's story" presentation and discussion to be held December 6, 2017

How do people who are innocent get wrongly arrested, wrongly accused, wrongly convicted, and wrongly imprisoned for years and years, and then finally get out of prison? Karen Thompson, staff attorney at The Innocence Project, and Anthony Wright, 344th exoneree will present their stories and have a discussion about how people are wrongly convicted and imprisoned. How did DNA evidence help free Wright after 25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit? How did Wright end up in prison for 25 years for a crime he did not commit? The Innocence Project works with DNA testing and DNA evidence to free people. The Innocence Project also works to make changes in the legal system to prevent this from happening.

This very important presentation and discussion will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 4-5:30 p.m., SLCC Atrium
