CANDIDE – written by Voltaire, Script (non-musical version) by Scott Hunter, Directed by Theatre and Dance Program faculty member Ethan Sinnott

The story of Voltaire's Candide, as adapted in two hilarious hours, is about Candide, a very naive young man, who is led through a series of outlandish, side-splitting misadventures that span nine countries in order to be reunited with his childhood love.  Throughout his journey, he encounters shipwrecks and pirates, war, passion, riches beyond the comprehension of mortal man, death by fire, hanging and impalement, inquisitions, earthquakes, volcanoes, revolution, slave traders, brothels, and sheep—lots of sheep.
