Professional Development Week

Description

Professional Development Week begins next Wednesday, August 16 and will use a conference format to structure the program. All are welcome.

Our mornings on August 16 and 17 will be spent in Elstad Auditorium for plenary sessions starting at 9:00 a.m. (a light breakfast with coffee/tea will be provided at 8:30 a.m.) and then in the afternoons we will gather for concurrent sessions. Each workshop will be offered twice; one on August 16 and again on August 17 so you have the opportunity to go to all sessions! Lunch will be provided on both days for the first 100 people. Details are still being confirmed and will be continuously updated on the Events page of the Faculty Development website.   

The following is a brief summary of the remainder of the week:

  • Friday, August 18 is reserved for department and program retreats/meetings. Please contact your department chair for more information.
  • Monday, August 21 is the Faculty Governance retreat from 9am - 12pm and is open to everyone, committee work from 1 to 3 p.m., and Faculty Club from 3 to 5 p.m. Please contact Dr. Caroline Solomon, University Faculty Chair for more information.
  • The morning of August 22 is Assessment Council from 9 a.m. to noonPlease contact Mr. Michael Catron and Dr. Helen Thumann for more information. 
  • The afternoon of August 22 will be group work for the Bilingual Mission Framework Task Force and GSR Program Review. Please contact Drs. Kristin Mulrooney and Jeffrey Lewis (Bilingual Mission Framework Task Force co-chairs) and Drs. Leslie Rach and Lindsay Buchko (GSR Program Review co-chairs) for more information.
  • The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) will host a demonstration of a post-award module by InfoEd on Tuesday, August 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. Please contact Ms. Audrey Wineglass-Foster, Director of OSP for more information.
