    Two Bulgarians, Alexander Ivanov, who works at Active Deaf Youth and Boris Bandev, who works at The Academy for Deaf Children, have been working on U.S. State Department Fellowship projects while networking with Gallaudet faculty, students, and staff. Both are part of the Bulgaria-U.S. Deaf Rights Coalition, by advocating for the education and human rights of deaf people in Bulgaria.

    Undergraduate government major Irisa MacAulay interned in Sofia, the capitol of Bulgaria, in June 2018. Ivanov, who is deaf, and Bandev are visiting Gallaudet during the month of November 2018.
