  • Description

Students Ian Evans and Brandt Marceaux are working on an Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-VIS) experiment as part of an Analytical Chemistry class Dr. Paul Sabila, STM professor provided during spring 2017.

The two students are Chemistry majors and were working on determining the exact concentration of iron metal in iron supplement tablets. The UV-VIS instrument helps determine the exact concentration of chemicals in various samples based on color intensity and amount of light absorbed.  Analytical Chemistry labs provide students with hands-on experience on various instruments and analytical techniques.
