    Dick Gregory, a legendary civil rights activist, author, and comedian, passed away at 84 years old on August 19, 2017. Gallaudet University supported the family's desire to ensure that the service was accessible to the deaf community. President Roberta J. Cordano, Board of Trustees member Claudia Gordon, and several other Gallaudet faculty and staff members attended the service.
