On April 25, 2019, the fifth annual Out of the Darkness walk was held on campus. The annual walk helps raise awareness related to the issues of suicide and mental illness. Gallaudet University Counseling and Psychological Services and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention hosted the walk. Community members are seen cutting the ribbon before starting the walk, which is a ceremonial way to honor those who shared their personal stories during the event.
