    Team USA won the gold medal in the 2018 Under 21 World Deaf Basketball Championship on Saturday, July 14, with a 79-63 victory over Japan here on Padden Court in the Gallaudet University Field House. The United States team went a perfect 6-0 in the eight-day tournament that also featured teams from Italy, Japan, Lithuania, and Turkey. Former Bison standout Lindsey Stergio, ’15 & G-’17, was the team's head coach. Current students Tiffany Anderson, Emelia Beldon, Hannah Neild, and Ariel Senics were on the team. Neild averaged 16.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 3.6 steals per game. She and Beldon each scored 15 points in the championship match.
