    Two Gallaudet and ten Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) students accompanied Trustee Claudia Gordon to the PowHERful Summit in Washington, DC on April 28, 2018. The conference is hosted in cities across the country by award-winning journalist, news anchor, and philanthropist Soledad O’Brien, who co-founded the PowHERful Foundation.

    Gallaudet and MSSD staff Evon Black, ’87 & G-’96, Recruitment associate director; Shirley Hampton, ’93, MSSD residential educator; Charity Jackson, E-’10, Kendall Demonstration Elementary School residential educator; Vanessa Slade, Office of the Vice President for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion executive assistant; and Tyese Wright, ’02, MSSD transition specialist, worked with Gordon in making this opportunity possible for students.
