M.A. in American Literature, Eastern Michigan University, 1981

Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies (fields of qualification: English, Philosophy, Sociology), Michigan State University, 1985

I teach classes in the English Department...  creative writing, literature, etc. I also direct the writing contests (Rakow, MacDougall and Evans Awards) and I advise English majors and minors.

In addition to this I write poetry, attend and give poetry readings, and participate in several residenices and writing conferences, such as the Sewanee and Bear River Writers' Conferences, the Key West Literary Seminar and the Rivendell Residency.
