Rhea Kennedy Morgenstern has been teaching at Gallaudet since 2011, and joined the English Department in 2014. She focuses on courses in professional and multimedia writing. From 2016-2017, she served as an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Faculty Fellow.

Ms. Morgenstern has written in the fields of journalism, fundraising, and public relations, and also worked as a photographer and editor. She has published articles and essays in The Washington Post, Grist, Civil Eats, Elevation DC, The Jewish Daily Forward, and two anthologies: Whereabouts: Stepping out of place (2Leaf Press) and Abundant Grace: Short fiction by DC area women (Paycock Press).  Her main beats are sustainable food, travel, and business.

Community involvement is an important part of Ms. Morgenstern's life. At Gallaudet, she has facilitated intergroup dialogues since 2008 and served on the board of Hillel since 2013. In the broader D.C. community, she has served on the boards of the DC State Fair and the Crossroads Community Food Network.

Ms. Morgenstern teaches courses in writing, critical thinking, and composition in digital environments. Students in her classes might find themselves devising an infographic or Thinglink, creating a website, touring the Washington Post headquarters, or writing a news article destined for publication.
