Gallaudet Life

Thanks to my wife, JoJo, my family moved to Washington, D.C. at the last minute in 2002. She finished her BA degree in Psychology at Gallaudet in 2005. My son, Ando, went to KDES and then graduated from MSSD in 2008. He finished his BA degree in Sociology at Gallaudet in 2018. I was a sub teacher at KDES and MSSD from 2004 to 2006. I coached for MSSD Football from 2002 to 2006 and MSSD Wrestling from 2003 to 2019. I started and coached Bison Wrestling Club from 2008 to 2012.

I was contractor for a year in 2006 for ITS (now GTS) as Apple technician and programmer. I developed back-end portals and automated applications such as accounts management for Data Center team. I was offered a full time job in January 2007. I accepted the offer and never regretted it. I am currently IT Technical Support Team Lead working for Projects Team and Development Services under Gallaudet Technology Services Department.

Personal Life

Born in 1967 and raised in Texas then moved to Arizona in 1977. Self-taught in computer technology, programming, and electronics since 1979. I met and dated my soulmate in high school. We graduated together in 1986 and got married in 1988. We have two sons but our second son, at 8 months old, died from SIDS. I graduated with Visual Arts degree at Oklahoma City Community College in 1994.

I was a structural ironworker during day and coder at night for over 15 years before moving to D.C. I also worked with computer aided design (CAD) and custom built a 3,400 sq. ft. home in Oklahoma.

I live in Cheverly, Maryland with my wife, sister-in-law and her three small girls, a dog and three cats. I battled with blood cancer in 2012 and am still in remission. Ando is currently living in San Diego, California, where he  is employed at Deaf Community Services of San Diego. He works closely with children and families as part of the Youth & Family Services department of DCS.
