TraciAnn Hoglind is a summa cum laude graduate (May 2016) from Gallaudet University with a major in psychology with honors and a minor in business administration. TraciAnn has worked with Dr. Laura-Ann Petitto and team for three years, was team captain for Gallaudet volleyball, was active in several organizations including the president of Phi Kappa Zeta Sorority, and is very eager to learn and contribute towards public health in the Deaf community. Not only that, she enjoys working with people and doing a variety of administrative work. TraciAnn has also completed internships at the Illinois Summer Neuroscience Institute (ISNI) at University of Illinois and the Laboratory for Language & Cognitive Neuroscience with Dr. Karen Emmorey at San Diego State University. She is also certified in the use of Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) and is a member of Psi Chi National Honors Society in Psychology.

She is currently a Health Research Technician at the Deaf Health Communication and Quality of Life Center with director Dr. Poorna Kushalnagar. She works with two NIH-funded studies, PROMIS-ASL and HINTS-ASL. She aims to get a MPH degree in public health with the focus of health education, health communication and health equity, then work closely with the Deaf population on improving their understanding and knowledge of health, including making changes in health services.

As a Health Research Technician, TraciAnn assists and manages the PROMIS/HINTS ASL projects, and coordinates administration and recruitment. She also will interview participants from diverse backgrounds, travel to states to set up survey meetings with Deaf people, and create brief health communication reports and videos.

She is also certified in the use of the Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy, CITI Ethics certified, and CPR & First Aid certified.
